I first dabbled in magic several times during my childhood although I never persevered enough to succeed. It was at Christmas in 1990 that I met a magician who pointed me in the right direction and my interest in magic really took off.
The following year I met Howard Burnette when he was playing a club in Wakefield. We became good friends and I even helped him out once when his magic partner was ill.
Howard introduced me to the famous Derek Newman (of the Newman Rings fame) who taught me advanced card sleights.
In 1993 I joined The International Brotherhood of Magicians. At Christmas 1995, exactly 5 years after starting, I performed for the first time at a large scale public event, a charity show for the MacMillan Nurse Appeal.
In early 1996 a friend of mine bought an ailing magic business and I helped restoration of the business by developing new effects and going with him to magic shows and conventions to demonstrate the magic to customers.
In 1997 I was invited to lecture to fellow magicians in Southern Ireland.

Now that I have retired I am able to offer adult close-up magic shows at parties and events in the West Yorkshire area. This type of magic is commonly called Table-Hopping or street magic. I use a combination of magic effects utilising traditional methods using playing cards and coins etc similar to the magic seen on recent David Blaine shows. I also perform mental and paranormal effects such as those used by Derren Brown.
